Tracking book sales and marketing for Short Literature Pro Market 2019
I decided I’m going to run a blog series where I document the sales and marketing efforts of my recent works as an independent & self-published author. Many people who have never seen behind the curtain of self-publishing often don’t understand the difficulties of marketing and financing your own books. It is a struggle that is very real and can be very expensive. There are plenty of independently published books that are of the same quality as traditionally published books – but there aren’t usually the same kind of connections and backing to push those books to success.
So, I’m going to share my efforts on my blog every few weeks. What works, what clearly doesn’t. What I’ve tried so far and what I want to try. Also, I will try to stay transparent with the sales numbers and what has been invested. The first book I’m going to track is my newest book currently out for pre-order, Short Literature Pro Market 2019.
